MY CHRISTIAN WALK

Oh LORD! I've tried so hard to be the faithful servant I should be.
But in this Christian Walk with thee, no one stumbles more than me.
Just when I think we're closer than we have ever been,
It seems I just lose control, and stumble once again.

I've read it all in Scripture, time and time again,
How a Christian's life should be once the Saviour has come in.
I know in this world of trouble, there's not one problem You can't solve.
I just don't seem to stand too well, when the pressure starts to fall.

Give me strength, oh Lord, for when I stumble, others see;
Please, oh Lord, don't let the unsaved think all Christians are like me.
This battered lump of clay needs You to shape it into form,
And dry it with Your glorious light, so it will stand through life's great storms.
I know it makes You weary, as You work day after day,
Just to find another weak spot in the clay.

I thank thee, Lord, for Your understanding ways,
I thank thee, oh Lord, for the patience shown each day.
For even when I stumble, before it hurts too much to bear,
You lift me in Your loving arms, to let me know that You're still near.
You hold me 'til I'm able, to be sent off on my own,
Then I hear You whisper softly, "I'll never leave you all alone."
