to David's page . . .

This came in the mail to us here at Ministry Through Music, and with permission, we are sharing this encouraging story with you:

- Hi -
Just wanted to drop a note and encourage your web sight. I, too, am a mother of a special needs boy. He was born having seizures every 10 seconds and had to be sedated with phenalbarbitol. When I saw the seizures I realized that I was having these strange movements in utero. I remembered the rhythmic pulses. My son, David Christian was also cordially blind. My husband had a very hard time with this one. We tried every drug possible and the special diet. Nothing worked. Half of his brain was malformed and now started to effect the other side of his brain. Surgery to remove half his brain was the only solution. Doctors told us that he may die on the table, or he could loose much blood. Donors from our church came to the rescue. On December 12, 1991, David had a 12 hour surgery called a hemispherectomy.

To make a very long story short, David is a healthy 8 year old boy today, he sees, he is taking baby steps on his own, started about a year ago and is making gains. He has weakness on the left side of his body. Has been a miracle child both to us and the doctors. He will brighten your day with his smile. He loves to sing, loves Barney, Elmo, and Blues Clues, and he is our joy. God has done so much in our lives through David, I could be typing forever. But God healed David of Blindness and of seizures. He is still on medication for seizures and tends to have one now and then, but not even close to what he used to suffer. God is so good. Thank you Jesus!
