Part 8
That women can minister?
There are some great women of god leading many thousands of souls to Christ every week. Wonderful women of God ministering The Word of God, preaching with the fire of Elijah. Each week women are working and ministering across this great nation and in foregin countries. God does use women to minister.
I recall reading an article talking about Dr. Billy Graham's Daughter, (Anne Graham Lotz) a preacher that took the pulpit at a Southern Baptist Convention. The men snubbed her and went as far as turning their chairs around with their backs toward her, as if saying "no woman is going to minister to me".
All of us need to realize that God will do whatever He wants and use whomever He wants to, and if it is through women, then PRAISE THE LORD!
It saddens my heart to know that in the year 2003 churches are still arguing. Arguing over what women can and can't do, and what women can and can not say. The Bible, however, speaks of many women who ministered. Lets take a look at a few:
There was Priscilla who was a part of Paul's tema. Priscilla had an impact on Apollos and she invited him to her home and explained the way of God to him more adequately. Read the Scriptures - Acts 18:24-26
There was Junias who was in prison with Paul. She was a courageous Apostolical worker. See Romans 16:7
The Bible speaks of so many, many women who were great in ministry, great in leadership in the church, and served in the church.
There were Euodia and Syntyche - Philippians 4:23
It is such a shame that even though there are Bible facts of strong women ministries, some of the (what I call) "religious foe" still think in that small pea brain head of theirs, that women ought to have their mouths duct tape shut, and sdit quietly in the corner. I can say something to that:
satan loves those thoughts! he gets such happiness out of the religious ones who think that way.
But, its time church to realize we need women in ministry! We need women that are on fire for God, intercessor-prayer warriors, women that know how to use the weapons of the spirit against satan! It's not time to strap women down in church, its time to encourage them. Its not time to restrain them in a corner or back row somewhere, but let them get out there on the front lines, and lets use our women of God.
Read in Judges 4:17-22 about Jael and how she nailed the eney with a tent peg.
We could go on and on listing great women who made a difference in the Bible, when it all comes down to it we need to be praying for our spirit filled women ministers and women in ministry and encourage them, because I really feel strongly about this:
If God could speak through a donkey . . . He can surely speak through women!
