Join with me, please, in reading Philippians 4:4-7
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Let your gentleness be known to all men. Hmmm . . . how can we (how can I) be gentle when I'm anxious? When I'm not rejoicing in Christ? When I am not walking in thankfulness for each and every breath? We (I) can't. Plain and simple. How can we be gentle when we are not walking and living in the peace of God that passes all understanding? We (I) can not. Plain and simple. How can we be gentle if we are not in constant fellowship with Christ, allowing Him to guard our heart and mind? We (I) can not. Plain and simple.
Abba Father, my hearts desire is to please You, to continue in that deep and intimate relationship with You that brings forth total rejoicing from the depths of my being. That relationship that causes me to walk in thanksgiving for every moment You bless me with on this earth. That relationship that keeps my heart and mind fully guarded and fully focused on You, on that which is pure, good, loving, kind, etc. That relationship that oozes out loving, gentleness to all those around me. Oh, Abba, how far I've moved from that place. Draw me nearer, ever nearer, back to Your throne of grace. May I once more sit at Your feet (no, crawl up on Your lap) and love You and receive the love You have for me! Hold me close, Abba, never ever let me fall away again! I can't breath, I can't function, without You . . . I need You, oh, how I need You!
