Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar/calories per serving.

Memories are a precious thing! Unfortunately, the art of passing ideas along from generation to generation has almost been lost due to the break-up of the American family.
It is my hope, that through the pages of "Grandma's Attic" some of those wonderful treasured memories will once again start to be passed along.
Won't you join me on this treasure hunt through Grandma's Attic?!
Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

Newspaper weeds away
Start putting in your plants; work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.
Linda, Monmouth Jct.., NJ
Broken Glass
Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken glass pieces of glass - the fibers catch ones you can't see!
Olive, Santee, CA
No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.
Diane, Moran, SC
Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.
Kathy, Maumelle, AR
Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gif wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.
Donna, Anderson, SC
Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and - voila - static is gone.
Pam, Maple Rapids, NH
Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.
Kim, Goldsboro, NC
Foggy Windshield?
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!
Alicia, Tampa, FL
Reopening envelope
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Voila! It unseals easily.
Mary, Lockhart, TX
Goodbye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!
Barbara, Birch Run, MI
Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it "home," & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp. if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

To clean baked-on food from a cooking pan. Put a fabric softener sheet in the pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The antistatic agents apparently weaken the bond between the food and the pan while the fabric softening agents soften the baked-on food.
To brighten and soften your laundry without the expense of fabric softner/bleach, here is a helpful hint that really does work!
Using your fabric softner container, fill with white vinegar, and proceed with your wash as usual. No need for dryer sheets either!
These delightful "thoughts" were passed along to me by a grandmother who just turned 85 years young. She lives in Wisconsin:
"Life is hard by the yard, but by the inch it is a cinch.
He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Pray for a good harvest, but continue to hoe.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.
Kindness is like a boomerang, it always returns."
Here's one for you - are you facing a painting project in one or more rooms of your home. Maybe just one wall would help "spruce" things up, but you're bored with plain paint, and not up to wallpapering? Not too artistic, but want fun results? then print this one out!
Cold weather have your children's hair full of static?? It sure has a way (especially with girls) to have them refuse to wear a hat - but here's a solution - place an "anti-static cling" dryer fabric softener sheet in their hat (or hood of their coat). They'll thank you for it! Why not try it yourself?!
Got an old chest that smells 'musty'? Why not try placing some freshly ground coffee in an open jar, basket, bag - whatever - close up the chest (works great with trunks, too) for a few days. Reopen, remove the coffee, repeat if necessary<
Problem with mice getting into things? Why not try placing an open box of moth balls in the affected area? Mice do not like it and will leave those stored items alone!
Don't like moth balls? Don't fully open the box, just cut a small slit in the box instead
Do you have a piece of badly tarnished brass and no brass cleaner handy? Why not use a wee bit of toilet bowl cleaner and a soft toothbrush? Works like a charm! Don't forget to rinse & dry well when done.
