Pastor got me thinking today . . .
With today being Reformation Day, Pastor gave a powerful, thought provoking sermon. Within the whole of it he had a simple statement that really set me to thinking, and it truly saddened my heart as I think of just "how true" that statement is in the lives of so many "Christians". This is what he said, "When Martin Luther posted that letter on the door, I bet he never imagined what our world would be like today. He desired to allow people to be able to read the Word for themselves instead of depending upon just hearing it from others." Then he went on to say, "here we are with many different translations laying around and yet we would rather go to a sports game, watch the news, or a sitcom, then spend time reading the Bible! I bet Martin Luther would not be able to imagine anyone not wanting to read the Bible."
Well, dear ones, doesn't that statement make you think? What do you want to spend your time on? If you need to 'get back into the Word', please visit "The Study" here at Karin Lynn's Place. We are currently doing an in depth study of Psalm 119 which is all about developing a deep love and desire to walk in the ways of the Lord through the application of His Word in our lives. If you don't feel quite ready to take on something that extensive, contact me. I also have studies available on Women of the Bible, and there are many, many other wonderful studies available from many reliable sources, but, please, dear ones, we need to change our way of life and put God and the study of His Word back on the priority list!
A special "Thank You" to Pastor Dufur at Grace Lutheran for boldly proclaiming the Truth . . . it is my sincere prayer that it is heeded. The Lord bless you and keep you in His care, until we meet again.
