4-Given Ministries started out in 1986 as Ministry Through Music with Karin sharing at women's retreats, conferences, Women's Aglow meetings, churches, missions fundraiser events, praise in the park events, and Christian Coffee Houses throughout Northeastern Iowa, Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. In 1999 she met up with Deb Gonser on line through an internet prayer board that was one of the outreaches Ministry Through Music had on the web. Deb was a single mother who had recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Over the course of a year, the prayers became a deep bonding that only the Lord could orchestrate. Deb was a singer and a writer and they quickly merged their ministry work online. Karin joined her in Arkansas for a joint Women's Retreat and later that year, when Deb had a couple of strokes, she was told that she would have to have a caregiver or be put into a nursing home, Karin left to travel to Arkansas to become her caregiver, believing it would only be a few months (the doctors had predicted only a short while for her to live) and God in His infinite power allowed them to become 4-Given Ministry Through Music, and gave Deb the strength to travel and minister with Karin for 8 years!

They established The Kings Highway Refuge Center, ministered at various churches, retreats, conferences and their favorite times up at The Great Passion Play grounds in Eureka Springs, Arkansas each month for 4-5 seasons. 
There are various ways in which 4-Given reaches out in Ministry:

·         One-on-one Biblical Counseling (Biblically Based Discipleship Program)

·         Internet Outreaches such as blogging - declaring applicable Biblical Truths for victorious Christian living

·         We're a part of the 24/7 Houses of Prayer/Praise and Worship movement by sharing music and Biblical declarations at SA Tabernacle House of Prayer on a regular basis

-        We support Friends of The Good Samaritans 

·         We've helped to build churches in the Philippines

·         Karin has ministered in song on the grounds of The Great Passion Play

·         We've visited many who were sick and in need of prayer

·         By encouraging our military by sending cards of encouragement and prayers

·         By coming alongside of other ministries and assisting them in anyway we can.

·         We have worked with disadvantaged children and young adults

·         By sharing food and clothes with those in need
