Lesson 2 - Cherubim

Probably one of the most misunderstood "type" of angel is the Cherub. Let us take a look and see how God's Word describes cherub's, or cherubim. (but . . . before we do . . . I would like you to write out how you see them. When you hear the word 'cherub', what comes into your mind's eye?):






The original Hebrew word is bwrk - K@ruwb pronounced as ker-oob' (this is a totally different way of pronouncing it, than I've been used to! I would encourage you to use the Study Tools, below, and go hear it for yourself.) This is a noun, masculine in origin/usage.

The definition given in the Strongs Concordance (02451) is:
• cherub, cherubim (plural)
  • an angelic being
    • as guardians of Eden
    • as flanking God's throne
    • as an image form hovering the Ark of the Covenant
    • as the chariot of Jehovah (fig.)
