11/2/2017 0 Comments We NEED One Another!!!We were not meant to walk this journey called life all by our selves . . . the road is sometimes slippery. Sometimes the climb is way too steep. Other times, we may find ourselves at a point of split paths where we are unsure which one to take, and we need wisdom, it takes more eyes than we have alone. God gives us other people in life to help us see things clearly - IF - we will just reach out!
There will be moments of sadness. There will me times of trial. There will be tragedies that come upon us. When we are alone, have not allowed ourselves to become close to others, we can easily collapse into a shambled mess! (even with others, at times, we can be a mess, but there is strength in numbers) I love Oswald Chambers - he lived MANY years ago. He wrote a Devotional that I have referred to time and time again over the years; it is called "My Utmost for His Highest". On November 1st, in his work titled "Ye Are Not Your Own", he is talking about how God gets us into the "Rugged Reality" . . . a way in which He can truly work on our inner being. I would like to share with you the last part of the last paragraph as I feel it so very adequately explains our need of fellowship, not only with Christ, but with each other. I quote: "Why shouldn't we go through heartbreaks? Through those doorways God is opening up ways of fellowship with His Son. Most of us fall and collapse at the first grip of pain; we sit down on the threshold of God's purpose and die as way of self-pity, an all so-called Christian sympathy will aid us to our death bed. But God will not. He comes with the grip of the pierced hand of His son, and says -'Enter into fellowship with Me, arise and shine.' If through a broken heart God can bring His purposes to pass in the world, then thank Him for breaking your heart." There is another more modern saying that I love, it goes something like this; "sometimes we need Jesus with skin on." What I mean by that is . . . WE are to be His hands, His arms extended to others. We represent His heart to others. We share His love and compassion. We are to be ambassadors of His grace and mercy to those in need. As we are walking down this pathway of life - this journey in Christ Jesus - it will have wonderful days full to overflowing with joy - and some days full of struggle. When we have developed relationships with like-minded brothers and sisters we have ones who can encourage us along the way. Someone to laugh with us, cry with us, pray with us or just be with us, or us with them when they need someone. WE NEED ONE ANOTHER!
