Honest Reflection: Are others able to 'see' Jesus in my life? When people leave my presence do they go away knowing that they have been in the company of one who truly walks with God and reflects His image? Do I walk in compassion with others? Let's look at some Scriptures and see how we are doing. Ephesians 4:31-5:2 Ephesians 5:11 Ephesians 5:15-20 Ephesians 5:21 - meditate on this one! If we are at least striving to walk in these, then good for us. If any of these areas described in the above verses hit us 'below the belt' and we know we've failed in them, lets begin to pray and ask Holy Spirit to help us overcome them so that we can truly reflect Christ to others around us. We are to stand out in this world . . . we ARE set apart, and we are to be holy as God is holy! God has already given us everything we need! (2 Peter 1:3) and our lives should BE fully producing the fruit of The Spirit which is: LOVE - JOY - PEACE - PATIENCE - KINDNESS - GOODNESS - FAITHFULNESS - GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL (Galatians 5:22,23) Fruit does not happen overnight, but as we constantly stay connected to Him (John 15) by reading and studying His Word, communicating with Him through prayer, praise and worship and having fellowship with other believers) God will (as the Master Gardner) prune, cultivate, water and the Fruit will be abundant. We need to do our part and trust Him for the results. Are YOU walking the talk?
